Night Market let's go!

I'll first have to admit, I don't really like going to night market.
I think the last one I went to must have been a longgggg time ago, I definitely forgot about all the fun stuff you see and do there.
All I remember is mosquitoes, dirty, muddy grounds and the horrible crowd. I hate very crowded places, gives me a headache.
This time my mum wanted me to go cause she was going to meet up with her friend, so to accompany her, I went anyway and I can't believe how much fun I had!

I can't believe I forgot about all these food they sell here, all these weird little things that you might not be able to find anywhere else.
This is one of the thing we used to always have as a kid, a big part of my childhood savings goes here. I can't tell you what's so good about it now, but it's the best for us since Malaysia is extremely warm.
Back in the days, this little truck will drive around my neighbourhood with a speaker, chanting its name to let us kids know that he's here and we will rush outside to stop him and buy it from him.
Later when I go to high school, this truck would also wait outside the backdoor of my school during after school hours and all these kids will just gather around his truck for a little treat after school.
What this is, is just icey syrup(?). Its not sorbet, not ice cream, definitely not shaved ice. It really is just frozen syrup kind of thing. You drink it with a straw and you will drink up all the syrup until there is only ice left. It costs like RM1 I think, back then at least.

Fruits! In Malaysia we always have all these colourful fruits everywhere. Although our vegetables are often not that amazing, our fruits are definitely one of the best. They are also extremely cheap compared to what I can get in Canada, ugh. I think we have papaya, guava, Mr. A's favourite, waxed - apple. Just to show off, I bought quite a bit home and devour them in seconds. They are extremely sweet.

Did I forget to mention about all these weird looking fruits we have here? We have the very well-known, spiky, delicious, amazing King of Fruits, Durian. We also have Mangosteen, a.k.a Queen of Fruits, that looks kind of weird too, purple in colour and if you accidentally got it on your shirt or something, it never comes off. Then we have this, Soursop. In Chinese, it also have Durian in its name for the spiky look but not the smell.
A lot of these are not necessarily local but we still have great access to it and it's not expensive at all!

Remind me again, why did I have dinner before I come here?
All these food, man.
Char Kueh Kak. I'm drooling just looking at this.
These are square noodles fried in soy sauce, bean sprout, garlic heaven.
I like it with an egg.

I also found this really cool cake vendor.
I've never seen anyone sell cake like that.
This is just on the street night market and they just look sooo good.
I didn't get to try any but it is one of the most popular stall that night.
Maybe next time.

That's all for my special night market trip.
It was really fun looking like a tourist.
Gotta come back with empty stomach next time!

Things I missed back home.

I literally wrote down a list. Just in case I forget anything. There is going to be way too many and I know it. So for the first time, I prepped pen and notebook in my bag, so I can write things down.
I'm never the kind that likes to record things on my phone if I can write it down, it just feels... more real?

Anyway, I got back to my hometown, Alor Star, at like 8 in the morning, so we went for breakfast at this restaurant that I used to loveee going. It changed so much! The whole restaurant looks different. One thing is the same though, it's semi outdoor and there is no AC.
I'm really glad that it's the morning and it's not burning out yet.

I sat down and ordered the classic breakfast drink for Malaysians, Milo O, how much I miss this!
You are probably thinking,
"milo, you can buy it and make it anywhere."
No, it's not that simple.
Restaurants always make them in a rush, they never mix them well, and so a big part of the Milo is not melted and stayed at the bottom of your cup. But it's these imperfection that made their way into the holy memoryland and make them so special.

This restaurant, like many other Malaysian kind restaurants, are made up from these individual stalls that sell their own thing. It's almost like a tiny food court. Only these, doesn't follow no rules. They make their food their way, and they all deal with their customers their own way. There is no Health Standard whatsoever, but no one really ever get sick from eating here (maybe a small portion, fine. They just have weak stomach, geez!)

See how they have these colourful plastic basins to wash their equipment and sometimes the food. I don't know about you but a lot of times here, these people are very clean and they simply make the best food. No complains for me! Malaysians do eat everything xD
Did I mentioned how the noodles are less than 5 Ringgit? Exactly.

I never realized how amazing cheap tiny portions could be, I get to try 4 different food in one breakfast!

I also had our infamous Malaysian toast with kaya(egg jam), I can't help but miss it.

Though many are amazing, this is probably one of the best version. I don't know what about it, but it's amazing. It's definitely NOT simply toast, it's THE OldTown Kaya Toast.

Back in my hometown, we also have paddy fields. Beautiful, paddy fields that takes breath away. I never realized that until these days when I don't get to see it that often anymore.

Look at how green they are!
It's so big I can't even see the end of it.
Words can't describe how I feel about this, it is truly something you need to see it with your own eyes.

I never knew, but my country, is quite pretty!
We have amazing view, people, and most importantly, food!

Lets talk Thai food

My first day back, I'm already thinking about all this food I need to have before I go.
There's so many of them, I don't really know where to start, good thing my uncle already figured it out for me.

Thai food it is.

We went to this amazing, beautiful, award-winning (I know it's award-winning, there's gold plates all over the wall) Thai restaurant that my uncle have heard of since a while ago but never been to. His words were to wait for me to come back and have this special moment with me. How is he not the sweetest?!

We were super late cause of the traffic, and so they already ordered so all I needed to do was to sit down and pig out as soon as I arrived.

It's crazy how long haven't I actually tasted authentic Thai food.
The mango salad was simply amazing for me, but I guess like my mum said, at this point everything will be crazy awesome to me.
I was like, there you go, THIS is how mango salad is suppose to taste like.

There is many other things that I could talk about, like the huge tiger crab, and the cockle clams cooked in green curry sauce or something.

But this, this is what completes my first day.

Durian ice cream (from REAL durian) with actual durian and sweet sticky rice.
What is this heaven right here?
Don't judge me, I'm Malaysian, durian is everything.

Orangie

Or you can call it healthy brownies!
It was suppose to be blondie but it is clearly orange to me.
After the devilish cake in a skillet, I still crave for dessert all the time so I can't help but to make some. I avoided the unhealthy choices of chocolate brownies though and instead make it with amazing ingredient to make healthy Orangies!

These are brownies make with pumpkin puree and oat flour!

It's not really orange, it's actually pumpkin puree. This is the end of the baking and I decide to make some pumpkin frosting to go on top of it. Made with pumpkin puree, some cream cheese, and little tiny bit of powdered sugar. It was really smart of me, sure.

I spread it as evenly as I can and let it sit and rest for about 1 hour. I only need 20 minutes, I just got lazy, like usual. Atlas the frosting harden, or dry out, however you like to call it, and creates a soft layer on top of it.

I also sprinkle raw sugar on it after spreading the frosting. They say it gives a nice crunch but I don't know. I just want to give it a try and it was okay since my orangie wasn't too sweet. The crunch is so little but that's because I try to put less to decrease my sugar intake. After all this is suppose to be a healthier dessert.

I just couldn't get the frosting absolutely smooth so maybe someone can tell me.

I wish you can see how dense it is and that makes it not crumbly at all and so pumpkin-y.

If you love pumpkin, you WILL like this and because it has the "healthy" label, you WILL end up eating the whole thing and it will become unhealthy again. sigh.
Guess who did that?

Cake In a Skillet

Did I mention how excited I am to get my cast iron skillet?
They are awesome like everybody said they are.
AND you can make desserts in them, that just makes it even better, like SO MUCH better.
I heard you can make cookies in them, but for now I'm just making a cake in them and i don't know why but they really do taste so little better. (It's my obsession with the skillet, isn't it? sigh.)

I always start with dry ingredient, cause then I can use the same whisk to whisk the wet ingredient and don't have to dirty the new one. Less dishes is always a plus, uh huh.

Then we have wet ingredient. I mix it in the big measuring up like this, just to make pouring easier.

mix together, and looks like it's not coming around, but....

coming together!!!

finally, but don't overmix. you pour it into the skillet and...

Viola!

I went on piping spree with cream cheese frosting.

and share them with everyone.

Just because this was the unhealthy cake and I didn't want myself to eat it all. Let everyone have their cheat day today for me?

Avocado Cupcake

Right after my Sweet Potato Cupcake, I was determined to pipe more real food onto cupcakes and make them not just sweet but really edible (not just full on sugar and unhealthy, but real food...with sugar and less unhealthy). So I went on Google spree and found another recipe to try!

It's obvious that I'm talking about avocado here (from the title yes!)
I didn't like avocado before I think they are bland and boring and most importantly, fattening. This reason keeps me away from it for a long time until I found out that it actually helps you burn the bad fat!!So I'm like hell yea, and start buying a bunch of avocados, even though mr. Pecan does NOT like it (He said he don't mind it but yea right, pick it out every time he could, what a kid.). I like it! It's creamy, it's easy to dress up and you can do so many thing with it!
Guacamole is not my favourite but adding it into dessert or salad or sandwich, yummay!

I actually replace a big part of the fat in the cupcake with avocado, so it will still be moist but it's healthy! Oh yea, I'm so into healthy food lately, and you'll know why later.

I didn't make a whole batch of cupcake because I knew I can't eat them all. I mean I would love to, but I shouldn't and I couldn't, AND you'll know why later.

After my cupcakes are done, I whipped up some avocado and tiny bit of cream cheese to give it some stiffness, for my frosting!

Frosting on the left, cupcakes on the right, all ready for me to pipe!!
After my last success on piping, I'm much more confident now. Only this frosting is not as tough and the other ones so I can't really decorate much other than doing the plain old swirl decoration. So that's what I did.

You see most of them are the simple plain old swirl. That weird looking one on the upper left corner kind of, is me trying to give my cupcake a spiky-hair frosting. It did work!! Just doesn't hold up too well. meh!

Had it for breakfast!! Yup, it is healthy enough for breakfast, believe it or not. It's moist and the frosting did NOT taste weird or stevia-ish at all. (I hate stevia. Yucks!)
Maybe I could make it for my vegetarian aunt soon! Hope she'll love it!

New Food Favourite!

Feel free to feel like this is slowly turning into a food blog, cause even I feel so. Sigh. I wasn't even trying. It just happened.

If you haven't notice, I'm obsessively in love with nuts. Like the edible, healthy, delicious nuts please. Other kind of nuts may perhaps be edible for some people, but I doubt it to be healthy or delicious. I mean I don't know and I don't want to know. (Where is this leading to?)

ANYWAY!
Nuts. yes. Like hazelnut, peanut, pecan, marshmallow(What? Marshmallow is not a nut and it's unhealthy? I can't eat it everyday? Nooo....) and etc.
I mean it when I say obsessive. I'm addicted, uncontrollably addicted. It's like drug to me. I get headache if I don't have at least one every day(okay..maybe not like THAT but still.)
THEN!
Lately it got intense when I found one of the most amazing thing in the world!
I mean it has been all over the place for a while but because it is not the cheapest thing in the world I didn't want to try it. I thought it won't be that much difference anyway.
In fact, NOW, I regret the choice of ever wanted and did try it. I'm hooked. I can finish a jar in a week all by myself! And that is only because I have self-control, or else I would have finish 31 jar in a month even when there is only 28 days.

So, here it is!

May I call you amazingness in a jar!!!
This is from Nuts To You(Proudly Canadian oooooh) and it's so far my favourite brand!
Well, I've only tried out 2 because that is all I can find here in Winnipeg and ordering other overpriced brand online is not an option.
This taste so much better than the one in the Bulk Barn, not saying that they are not good neither because they are still good! This one is less oily and more cashewy, like toasted cashew-y, like damn toasted cashew-y. So yea, I'm hooked.

I even bought carrot sticks so that I can dip into this thing and feel less guilty.
I spread an avocado layer over my toast so that I can spread extra thick layer of this on the other side because "to avoid the avocado overpowering my cashew butter taste." At least that's what I tell myself (wink wink)

This is seriously so good! If you can EVER can your hands on it, don't. You've been warned.

weekend breakfast

It's weekend.
It is the day to finally have a nice breakfast/brunch after a long week.
I love breakfast and I always think it's probably the best meal of the day, so how can you not take your time and make something amazing when you finally have the time? You can't and shouldn't miss this out, it's a crime if you do. Police of the City of Sherrawks will FIND you, and they will FEED you. (if you think it sounds familiar, it's probably because I copied this from Taken, oh Taken~)
So, to obey the law, I woke up and make Mr. Pecan and myself some amazing breakfast that usually takes too long! If you haven't notice already, it is something made with potato. Please don't misunderstand Mr. Potato, they are actually very healthy, I promise. Unless you fried it and put them into bags and call them Lays, then I can't guarantee anything other than the fact that it is devilish.

Random advice of the day: Do not buy that bag of Lays, once you open it, you won't stop till you finish it!

Anyway, you can Google their health benefits(cause I obviously won't remember) and you'll know how much you've misunderstood them. It is a breakfast signature, and since they don't have a distinct, overpowering strong flavour, you can do whatever you want to them, dress them up however you like.

If you are guessing I'm obsess with potatoes lately, you're probably right.

One of these morning, I made hashbrown/latke, top with those leftover whipped sweet potato cream. I know, so potato-ey.

It's grated potato, pan-fried in non-stick pan till crispy. I tried to use less oil so I couldn't crisp it up as much. I was just going for the crispy edges so I pan-fried it in only so slightly little oil, then before taking it out, I pour about 1 tsp of oil into the pan and swirl it around. Amazingly, it works, I got my crispy edges with a softer middle.
I was again, lazy, and really don't want all those tears, so I didn't grate the onions, but added in onion powder, some garlic powder, cayenne and chili flakes. Extra flavours never hurt anyone. Obviously the still works pretty well. I like everything spicy so the so slightly little kick was just nice for me. It's breakfast after all, probably not the best idea to have tooo spicy food(this does not apply to when I'm back in Malaysia, Roti Canai dipped in Chicken Curry for breakfast please!).
The whipped sweet potato has some cream cheese in it, so it's kind of like a sweet sour cream but less. It has the ever so slightly(overusing alert!!) tang from the cream cheese, and the sweet from the sweet potato. I can't tell you how good these two goes together. Even Pecan had no problem with it. As picky as he is, if he finished it, I probably did a PRETTY good job. (proud)

Other weekend breakfast ideas like,

If you think this is just a normal pancake, WRONG!!
This is inspired by Doraemon's favourite food, the lazy version. I am the laziest person in the universe after all. I'm pretty sure I didn't invented this but I would like to share with you anyway.
Instead of having the same old boring butter and maple syrup over the top, I made basic pancakes and fill it with PBJ. yup! I thought these will be a little different so (I did NOT just ran out of bread), and obviously it was good. At least not disappointing like my first attempt when I got baking soda and baking powder mixed up, yucks, but hey, it was a Saturday Morning. This one though, is a fluffy pancake with the right ingredient and a filling that can't go wrong.

These are melonpan and they are a little more work than the others, it's a bread after all. You basically have to prep the cookie dough and bread dough the night before, let the bread dough rise and double in size, shape everything but don't assembly them yet. For the cookie dough, after you shape them into thin sheets, pop them in the fridge. For the bread dough, shape them and set them aside for second rising, I think they will rise in the fridge too, overnight though. In the morning, assembly them, give them a nice crisscross shape, THEN you pre-heat your oven. While waiting for your oven to preheat,  set the prepared dough aside to let the bread rise back a little bit more, while you can do your dishes or whatever. Then when oven is ready, you throw them in the garbage can oven, can bake them off!

Sounds uber complicated but it is easier than you think, plus a satisfying breakfast will top it all. These are just so good that I ate 3 when I was going to give Pecan 3, I swear I tried but I just can't.

They are kind of like a Japanese version of Pineapple Bun(菠萝包), but smaller. Fluffy and soft bread underneath the almost crispy topping. Makes my house smell like the most amazing bakery when I was baking it in the kitchen. My tummy is growling at the moment just thinking about it.
Don't you just love YouTube? At first, it was the dog who caught my attention and I'm glad it did! I'm absolutely in love with their recipes, now that I've tried so many times and had never failed.

So there is some of the best brekafast I've ever had, I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I do!

First piping success!

My landlord gave me 2 humongous sweet potato before she left to China...in JANUARY. I love sweet potato, I really do, but I just thought eating it as it is, is kind of a waste. Since there is so many sweet potato recipe out there, I shouldn't just waste my potatoes like that. I don't know why but this is just how my brain function. sigh. Always something about food. sigh.

Anyway, I thought I know what to do with them and time passes, they are still sitting in my pantry chilling with ma' pots and pans. Finally today when I realized I ran out of breakfast for the lazy Pecanhead, I looked through my pantry and knew I need to do something with my sweet potatoes.

I found my recipe, baked my sweet potatoes, and whipped up some amazing sweet potato cupcakes. These are awemazingalicious. Yea, it's my word, awemazingalicious. It's so good that I could make my own word for it. Maybe it made me smarter, hmm. You do know that sweet potatoes are one of the superfood right? I believe the reputation comes from how it actually makes you smarter...no?

Whatever the reason is, I present you sweet potato cupcake with sweet potato frosting!

Before, it's kind of weird because it's not really muffin-looking, and I kind of messed up a bit so the shape was off. I knew this time I can't be lazy, have to pipe something onto it and cover its weird shape.

After. Tadah! I did it!! Some shape are not really shape looking cause I tried too hard, never a good thing. Others I just stick with a normal swirl, trying to go easy on myself there. You know what they say, take care of your basics and everything else will be easy as a penny.

This is my first time ever piping and designing cupcakes so I tried to keep it as simple and easy as I could. I think I did a pretty good job don't you think?

Yup, I pipe sweet potato onto that cupcake.

인절미

Why do I feel like I talk food more than anything? Maybe because I do.

Alright. I want to talk about other stuff too but it's not new years yet! I cannot and should not touch all the new amazing stuff I bought. Traditions forbidden me to! You have to have something new at least on the lunar new years day so, bear with me. Please, Sherine, don't touch them, 조금만 참아!!

I'm trying not to eat on my very best cause I need to diet, but seriously, why did I allow him to buy those snacks? Those will kill me, no, more like they ARE killing me. I'm talking about chips, those evil potato head.

Despite having all these food in the house I was able to push myself to go make more snacks. yay to the fatty pants. It's good for you...okay it's probably not.
It's very delicious, and delicious must be good, right?

"Delicious food heals your sad soul." - Some unknown awesome human being(like me)

You know prevents is better than healing, so I'm just..preventing.

It's pile of awesomeness that I couldn't stop myself from thinking.
It's also extremely easy that I could just even make it in the middle of the night and eat it, in 20 minutes, from making to finish eating! (Obesity alert!!)

I'm sorry if it look extremely ugly LOL but ya, you know what I mean, kay, don't judge me!
I realized I forgot to mention how awesome those yellowy powder is, it's roasted soybean powder. I don't know about you but it already sounded delicious the first time I hear it, and it did not disappoint me, at all. It's what makes this absolutely addicting. Don't try it, you are warned!
You are allow to think it's just me who gets addicted to all kind of food. yes.

Now I know you're a nice person. Please tell me all these bad things about me like how obesity and unhealthy I'm getting, and how I need to get fit(like my brother), go ahead. Scratch my pride so that I get hurt badly and so that I can stop eating. Please, I beg you, and thank you.

Cookies

Still in trial though.
I'm not like crazy cookie fan, I don't usually want them or miss them or like go crazy when I see one.
But since I saw it on BenjimanTV and his collaboration partner where they make chocolate chip cookie, I've been craving for some nice chewy good old chocolate chip cookie.
The thing is, I don't want to make a whole batch of buttery goodness because I KNOW ME TOO WELL. I will inhale all of them by myself all at once. ya, so much of dieting for Korea.

After some researching I am now trial-ing my way to the perfect chewy chocolate chip cookie that's healthy. I tend to forget what I did with recipes so I'm gonna try to remember by writing them down obviously, of my two trials. I refuse to call them fail!!! Because they taste amazing, just not chewy and i want the chewy cookies hence not fixing my craves (sad faces).

These boobies-looking cookies are my latest trial.
I will tell you why i shape them like that. Because I'm trying to crowd them all on one plate and the only way to do that is to make them big and since im using a ice cream scoop and I'm too lazy to reform them, I just put two scoop and stick them together. I know they don't spread much so I put them very close to each other.
These are fudgy and chocolatey and really delicious.
I liked them but I probably used too much stevia or erythritol hence creating a weird aftertaste that I don't really like. These are definitely healthy though. Made with black beans and only 2 tbsp of refined sugar. I still add refined sugar into my cookie cause I don't have much faith in my other unrefined sugars yet. Healthy sugar substitutes are simply too expensive and I refuse to use them up so quickly. It's just too much for me to see my wallet hole grow bigger and bigger as I pour in the sugars. I'm sorry but, I really can't yet (cry face).

I put too little chocolate chip in these ones so the chocolate chip didn't end up the way I like them.
But because these have to be store in the fridge the chocolate chip did firm up so I can actually chew on some crispy bits which I really like. I am now considering storing all my chocolate chip cookies in the fridge for that reason.
Have to also trial on the problem if it's from stevia or erythritol. Most probably stevia because it really taste like the herb taste. It is known that Stevia doesn't act well in baking but erythritol is the one that leaves cooling sensation in your mouth, so I have to find that out. yay, more reasons to bake more batches of cookies!!! Don't worry I will give them away...maybe...
Will totally stop buying the one that cause problem to my cookies!!! I'm not mad at the sugar please, it's only because it's really expensive and there's no reason to buy food so expensive that I really don't like the taste of right? like "hey, this poop taste thing is expensive let's stock them up" ,ya..no.
If it't not stevia, then I'll still have to find a tastier stevia because apparently one taste better than the other..... I don't really like the one I have right now. If it's stevia then I'm dropping it out of my pantry, if it's erythritol then hell I'm not buying that shit anymore! It's literally soooo expensive and it's not like stevia where I can find a better tasting one, they all taste the same. so, we'll see.

I actually prefer these over the ones about in look(not because they don't look like boobs!). They look more like the one Benji and Bryon was making and THAT was the one I was craving for. These LOOK quite similar.
Taste wise, these doesn't have the weird aftertaste so I maybe prefer that more on this one. This one have just enough chocolate chip in them. I like to clearly identify the chocolate chips when I put them in my mouth but I can't do that with the fudgy ones because they are all so chocolatey. These ones though, because I didn't put any cocoa powder in the dough I can clearly taste the chocolate chip which gives me a different layer of taste and I really like that. Cocoa powder in the cookie dough is really overpowering and I can't taste the cookie and chocolate chip separately(dislike face). Conclusion, no cocoa powder in cookie dough and store them in fridge for crispy bits!
But this is one is not chewy nor fudgy, just light and stay slight crispy for the first few hours. Don't know what's the problem for that but I'll trial it out.

I forgot to sift my baking powder. Hence there was lumps of baking powder in my cookies (guilty face). Slap myself for laziness!
I'm really liking the 100% chocolate chip (that I cut up myself, with little 100% cocoa chocolate baking wafers). It is uber bitter when you eat it plain but since I got used to the pure chocolate, I'm really okay with them now, like I can actually eat plain 100% chocolate with no problem (other than it's too rich I can't inhale a bunch of them at once). In fact, I really like them! It's something I can't explain it to you but I really like how the chocolate stays on my taste palette and lingers. I've always been really adaptable with bitterness so it's really easy for me. But I know many people can't take it (Pecan absolutely hate it). So since I will still always love sweet things and Pecan will always have sweet tooth, why not make them into cookies right? Now everybody can have some sweet boost of antioxidants.
You can't taste the bitterness once they are incorporated into cookie (or probably any kind of pastry), but the amazing chocolate taste will lingers like it will when it was by itself. So it's definitely a win-win. I didn't even have to make the dough too sweet, the slight sweetness was all too good enough.
The melting chocolate was so tempting when they come out from the oven I almost can't wait for it too cool down, but I managed, don't worry. Eating warm desserts are apparently sins, just in case I  you don't know.

Healthy Crackers

About a week ago, I made some hummus. Even though I don't have the best food processor I went ahead and make it anyway. Not the best idea as my blender almost died at the spot. Sorry baby of the kitchen. It took about 15 minutes to get it to become "chunky", not simply because I like it chunky but because I can't afford to hurt my little blender anymore and I don't think it can go any further, poor blender. Luckily though, I do love chunky everything, chunky peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, mashed potatoes, just almost everything I think. At least I can't think of anything right now that should not be chunky in my opinion. Even SMOOTHie should be chunky, so you know it's made from real fruits, yeah.

Anyway, enough said about my hummus, that's not my point. I made hummus and I feel like I need to eat it with something. Yup, just another excuse for me to make something and try new recipe out of my kitchen, as if you really need something to dip in that chunky lovely hummus. You really should not eat it from the spoon, and finish it in a day. Like I never did.

So crackers are needed. Crackers for hummus, never goes wrong. BUT! I'm really trying to get back in normal size now and all the whatever-delicious-buttery crackers out there on the market is really a no-no for me. So I have to make something healthy and delicious which I thought is impossible(delicious cracker that's suppose to be stuffed with butter and health? not sure about that) before I found these and  yup, we got a winner!!!

I don't have most of the things on the list of ingredients in my pantry that time so I change the recipe myself so maybe I can too, very cool-ly call it my recipe inspired by that recipe? it's just a little dream of mine(I have my own recipe ohmygahhhhd) so don't break it (sob) even though I know it doesn't work like that.
ANYWAY, flax seeds are amazing binder so it's gonna work no matter what as long as you have that, I believe.

It is so flavorful and most importantly CRISPY LIKE A CRAKER!! yay! just water and some seeds. Isn't that amazing?

That little triangle that disappear is in my tummy when I take this, OBVIOUSLY. Surprisingly crispy so I'm definitely making these again.

Oh so healthy :)

Hi School days

It's the annoying school season.
I hate school season, for obvious reason. Cause I'm a student?!

I don't know if I should call myself a morning person because I love mornings. Like LOVE mornings.
I love waking up early feeling like I have time. I love the bright sun, clean air, breakfast, everything about mornings.
Then what's the problem?
Well, the problem is, I slept in. All day everyday, during the holiday season.
I want to wake up and I had sheets to do. But I never could wake up, yes, because I wouldn't go sleep early. Sigh.
Don't call me an not-morning person because I really really like mornings.>.<

Anyway, did I mention breakfast and how much I love them?
It's the most important meal of the day and it's the only meal of the day where you can EAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!!! oh-emm-gee. yes.
We are talking about a healthy lifestyle here. Not pig-out. Even though I do so most of the time.
Don't worry, It's all gonna digest throughout the day and it's gonna make your day full of energy.
And if you wake up early, you can have numerous breakfast!! oh yeah.
In fact, it is good that you eat more meals but less every meal.
Just imagine yourself working in a store, do you prefer a smaller amount of customer that you can handle coming in frequently or a hugeeee amount of customer coming in all of a sudden once every couple of hours? For me, former. Same for your tummy too.
With that your tummy stay flat all day! Unless you already have like a huge tummy like me. Oops.
Apparently normally people tend to eat less during lunch and dinner when they have a good amount of breakfast, which they should.

Enough health talk.

We were talking about breakfast.
One of my favourite breakfast item, GRANOLA!

These are in the oven right now baking their nuts off. and by nuts I mean walnuts and almond nuts okay?

Homemade are always, ALWAYS better. Taste better, look better, smell even better!
It smells like coconut heaven in here since mine have some shredded coconut and healthy coconut oil in there.

I like raisins, even my daddy knows that.

Now mix everything and tummy in they go!

Why I love granola?
You make them in batches and once you're done, for dayss you don't have to wake up 30 mins earlier to make breakfast with eyes closed. 30 minutes more sleep? Oh yea.

Food and surprise plan

then my dad learned how to cook...

he loves the crowd
so he invited people over to try his Tomyam Beehoon Soup LOL
they all said he PASSED!

looks pretty good hey?
it's actually pretty good
but i don't get to eat any
because i'm going out to see my man
and i know he's gonna feed me==
so i only tried like 2 sip and it's awesome
Good job daddy <3 p="p">

my aunt wants to take picture too
have to make it pretty she said LOL

and let's welcome, the cook of the day's...back!
MY DADDY~!!
he was so happy about being acknowledge as a good cook haha
so cute, my daddy ^^

came over to study yesterday
were studying and then got hungry so we ate pizza
i baked him pizza...

then did some intense workout with him
call the TICKLING LOL
cause he's so ticklish
but too bad he's stronger
i end up getting attacked ==

his chest is sooo comfy
although is disappearing
because he the slacker stop working out lately
all his muscle, bye bye soon haha

trying to study
but keep being distracted ><
while he's actually studying so hard beside me lol
felt bad so i actually started study after this ONE picture >D

i made him kimbap!!!
i'm so nice i know~
but why is his face like this?!
it's not because it's not good k?!!
well there's actually a story behind LOL
so he's actually a tester
not like purposely making food for him k?
because i'm making kimbap tomorrow for the father's day party at Qing Jie's place as we are celebrating it early kkk
and it's for daddy right?
so i want to give dad a surprise
so i didn't want daddy to know that i'm making it for him
but i have to do it at home
so i have my man over and try my kimbap
at the same time i can tell dad i'm making this for Pat
so that he wouldn't know and that he will get jealous haha
best plan ever right?
but he is keep giving Pat jealousy glare
and I keep making him eat in korean saying, " you better eat!"
and he's like," can we just tell him? this is really hard to digest!" LOL
and that's why he has this face kkk
before that he was like it's soo good hehe
i swear it's good!

this is the second round already
and i'm keep being like it's all yours LOL

make him pose with the very delicious kimbap XD

he already ate like more than half of it kkk
